Knowing that, “what” is “where”, and “why” it is there is important for management and planning. Geographic Information System (GIS) is the science and technology of answering “where” type questions and for making decisions based on location. Through a GIS system, we can model the real world into multiple layers, where each layer represents different subjects of interest. WebGIS is a kind of distributed GIS, in which clients can have access to the GIS through a web browser, a desktop application or a mobile application.

By clicking on the following button (Map), you can see a sample static WebGIS, including the following layers which you can turn on or off each layer, searching locations is also possible on this map:

  • Open Street Map.
